Peter Stone is fourteen and lives with his dad. He doesn't go along with his father so well because he is too strict and doesn't believe in him. Exams were coming up so Peter goes to Doctor Black, thinking that he can make him more confident.. While he is there, the vacant spirit of Martin Lane, enters his body. Martin died 100 years ago, and since then he'd been searching for Helen D'arlay, she whom he loved. He wanted to find a body for Helen, so that they could put their body to rest properly and go to afterlife together. She enters into Marie. Martin's plan is to burry his body in cemetery so he will be able to go in paradise. The bodies are still where he was shoot by Helen's father, because he didn't want that a slave frequented his daughter. The plan works and they go to afterlife together, and Peter becomes confident.
